Formed six years ago, the Don Clark Band have established themselves as firm favorites on the South Wales pub rock scene.
With Don on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, Mike on lead guitar, Geraint on bass and Neil on drums, they all contribute to the faultless harmonies with their choruses and backing vocals. Their blend of 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970;s and even contemporary covers sound exactly as they should - but this band is no jukebox. They manage to give each number their own stamp of authority.
To see this group of gentlemen of ‘a certain age’ mix R.E.M., Snow Patrol and Crowded House numbers with old Rock ‘n’ Roll stalndards is a real eye-opener and a tribute to their musicianship.
I may sound prejudiced, but as webmaster of this site they reamin my favorite local band. |
